Remrov's World of Autism
When I was younger, I didn’t understand anything of the world around me, nor did I understand language. I lived completely inside my own world and struggled with practically everything in my life. I got myself through every day by studying, memorizing and copying other people’s behaviour, language and customs. Even though at first everything I said and did was all just copied, I slowly made it my own until I was confident enough to try to find my own words and language inside myself. I went from being a little frightened person who didn’t understand any language and was hardly possible to reach, to a person who is confident and who has quite an amount of self knowledge -- and who knows what he needs to manage his life.
I'm at a point in my life where I want to pass on everything I have learned and everything that helped me to other autistic people and their families, and everyone else interested in the topic. I want to create a bridge between the autistic and neurotypical worlds, and I hope to be a voice to non-verbal autistic people. I raise awareness and understanding about autism in a few different ways -- I give presentations, I write about my experiences, and I make videos about many different topics related to autism.
